S550, S197, and the adaptive suspension
Our focus is the S550 from 2015 to 2023 with the 2.3 EcoBoost, the 3.7 V6, and the 5.0 Coyote V8. We can source parts for the predecessor S197 and the current S650 upon request. However, the most important difference is not the model, but the equipment: vehicles with MagneRide have electronically controlled dampers. Anyone installing standard parts there will get an error message.
How to identify MagneRide
There is a cable with a connector attached to the damper, and there are selectable drive modes for the suspension in the menu. The VIN will provide a definitive answer. Incidentally, parts from the S197 will not help: the S550 has independent rear suspension, while its predecessor has a solid axle.
Springs and strut mounts as well?
These can be requested together and it makes sense for older vehicles — strut mounts and bump stops are often replaced at the same time if the damper has to come out anyway. If you are thinking about a coilover suspension: we will tell you which versions are available with certification, if applicable. We do not guarantee registration, as that is decided by the inspection authority.
Continuing with the Mustang
For everything that is regularly due — ignition coils, water pump, oil filter, wheel bearings — see Maintenance and wear for the Mustang 5.0 V8. The entire inventory can be found under Ford Mustang spare parts, an overview of all models under Vehicles.
The VIN is sufficient in most cases. Let us know if you want to keep the stock suspension or if you want a firmer ride. You will receive a fixed offer with the final price including shipping and customs duties. Request parts via VIN.
