Overview

The RAM 1500 in its current design (BR1/BRT, from model year 2019 onwards) is a heavy pickup truck – whether you use it for your daily commute, towing a trailer, or off-roading, the front axle brakes have to withstand a lot. This brake pad set features a ceramic compound for the front axle, designed for decent stopping power, quiet braking performance, and low dust generation. It includes all four pads plus the appropriate installation clips and hardware kit, so you don't have to hunt for small parts before you get under the car.

A quick, important note upfront: This set is built for the new RAM 1500 generation (BR1/BRT). It does not fit the old RAM 1500 Classic (DS platform) – axles and brake calipers differ significantly between these model series, even though both were sold under the "RAM 1500" name.

RAM has used different brake caliper and pad variants over the years, sometimes even within the same model year. Model and engine specifications alone are therefore often not enough to confirm fitment – your truck's VIN is the only reliable basis. Installation & Notes

Changing the front axle brake pads is feasible with standard tools if you have removed a brake caliper before. A few practical points that are often overlooked:

• Before installation, check the old pads for uneven wear – this indicates a sticking brake caliper or guide pin, which you should address at the same time
• When pushing back the brake caliper pistons, keep an eye on the brake fluid reservoir (the fluid level rises as you push them back)
• Clean and lightly grease the guide pins and caliper mountings to prevent the new pads from wearing unevenly again
• Use the clips and hardware included in the set – old, rusted clips are often the cause of rattling and squealing, not the pad itself
• After installation, plan for a break-in period and avoid hard braking so that the pads and discs can bed in together
• If your brake discs already have deep grooves or warping, it is better to replace them at the same time – otherwise, the new pads will also wear unevenly
