Packaging & Disposal

What this page is about

We procure vehicle parts in the USA and import them into Germany. Consequently, the packaging in which a part arrives at your location usually originates from an American manufacturer. This page informs you who is responsible for this packaging, how you can dispose of it, and how you can return it to us.

Every package we import features a label containing our name, our address, and the address of this page. If you arrived here via this imprint, you are in the right place.

Who places the packaging on the market

Because we import the goods ourselves without intermediaries into the European Union, we are considered the importer of the packaging. Under the EU Packaging Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2025/40, "PPWR"), which applies from August 12, 2026, the name, address, and electronic address of the importer must be stated:

US-Parts24 — Proprietor Marcel Maier
c/o MDC Management #4122
Welserstr. 3
87463 Dietmannsried
Germany
info@us-parts24.de

This information matches the print on the packaging and our legal notice. The address provided is our registered business address capable of receiving service.

Registration in the Packaging Register

We are registered with the Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR) in the LUCID register. Our registration number is:

DE5233261663115

This registration covers all types of packaging that we place on the market — including those that are not subject to system participation.

Which packaging is subject to a dual system

Not every package must participate in a dual system (e.g., the "Green Dot"). The decisive factor is where packaging typically arises — in private households or in industrial settings. The ZSVR classifies this uniformly for every product group; for us, the product group "Automotive and Accessories" applies.

  • Not subject to system participation are the packaging types for the majority of our range: brakes, filters, engine parts, chassis parts, cooling parts, and body parts. Such packaging typically arises in automotive workshops and is not collected there as part of household waste streams. For these, our return policy applies (see next section).
  • Subject to system participation are packages that usually end up in the private end consumer's trash — for example, accessories and styling parts, floor mats, windshield wipers, as well as care products and liquids in small containers. We report and license these types of packaging with a dual system.

For you as the recipient, this does not change anything regarding disposal: In both cases, you can dispose of cardboard and plastic wrap via your standard household recycling collection. The only difference is who pays for the recycling.

Return of used packaging

We accept packaging that is not subject to a dual system free of charge and send it for recycling. This applies to transport and secondary packaging as well as the sales packaging of these goods.

Here is how it works: Write to us at info@us-parts24.de with your order or invoice number and a brief note regarding which packaging it concerns. We will coordinate the return process with you and provide you with the return address. The return process itself is free for you.

Honestly, in most cases, it is more sensible to dispose of cardboard and plastic wrap via local recycling collection rather than sending them back across Germany — both ecologically and practically. However, the return option is always available to you, and we will not ask for reasons.

How to dispose of the packaging correctly

  • Corrugated cardboard, folding boxes, paper padding — Paper recycling
  • Plastic wrap, bubble wrap, bags — Recycling bin or yellow bag
  • Plastic molded parts, blisters, foam — Recycling bin or yellow bag
  • Styrofoam (EPS molded parts) — Depending on the municipality, yellow bag or recycling center
  • Wooden crates and pallets (for large parts) — Recycling center, bulky waste, or return to us
  • Strapping tapes, staples, metal parts — Recycling center or scrap metal

Adhesive tapes, shipping labels, and plastic handles can usually be removed easily. Separating them from the cardboard noticeably improves paper recycling.

Collection systems vary from municipality to municipality — especially regarding Styrofoam and wood. In case of doubt, the regulations of your local waste management company apply.

Why your part often arrives in the original American box

We deliberately do not repack imported parts if the original packaging is intact. There are two reasons for this: The manufacturer's box is tailored exactly to that part and protects it better than a generic shipping box — and every act of repacking creates additional waste.

Therefore, the box often contains English text, and the appearance may differ from European goods. This does not change the contents or your rights. Where we pack items ourselves, we use tiered box sizes so that as little filler material as possible is required.

Questions about a specific shipment

Do you want to know what the packaging of a specific part is made of or how to dispose of it? Send your order or invoice number to info@us-parts24.de — we will then tell you specifically what is in your package and how it should be disposed of.
